Youth unemployment and job quality in times of crisis : a European overviewThe economic crisis has hit young Europeans particularly hard. In the vast majority of countries, the rise in youth unemployment to unprecedented levels between 2006 and 2012 was accompanied by a deterioration in job quality. Thus unemployment and capability unfriendly jobs evolved in conjunction with each other, such that no country experienced a decline in unemployment at the cost of a deterioration in job quality from a capability perspective.
